Shen Yueyue, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a team from the Committee on Population, Resources, and Environment of the CPPCC National Committee to survey green and low-carbon industrial transformation in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province from May 6 to 9.
The team visited enterprises, industrial parks, schools, villages, and townships in Harbin and Qiqihar, and held multiple symposiums to gain a comprehensive insight into the practices and explorations of the province in advancing green and low-carbon transformation.
They witnessed the historic achievements China has made in low-carbon development under the guidance of the central leadership since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which has become a signature outcome of the country's practice of State governance in the new era, according to the survey team. They further understood that green and low-carbon transformation is the only way to achieve high-quality development, a must to achieve the dual carbon goals, and the fundamental solution for environmental problems.
The team emphasized the key role of technological innovation in accelerating the green and low-carbon transformation of traditional industries, and in the layout of emerging and future industries based on local conditions, creating new impetus for green development to facilitate high-quality development.
The CPPCC should fully leverage its role as a specialized consultative body, focus on the key development goals of green and low-carbon transformation, strengthen research and surveys, and put forward targeted and pragmatic suggestions, contributing its wisdom and strength to the comprehensive advancement of building a Beautiful China.
