The Committee on Proposals of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) dispatched a team to Southwest China's Sichuan province from April 22 to 26 to carry out a supervision survey on the employment support system for college graduates, one of the key proposals of the year.

Yang Zhen, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (CPWDP), led the team.

The team visited colleges and universities, departments of human resources and social security, talent markets, and employers in Chengdu city, Liangshan Yi autonomous prefecture, Ganzi Tibetan autonomous prefecture, and Ya'an city to gain a comprehensive understanding of the employment, military service, and entrepreneurship of college graduates.

In Ya'an, the team held a symposium to discuss the issue with officials from the Sichuan provincial government, relevant functional departments, and universities as well as representatives of teachers, students, and parents.

The team emphasized the need to understand the current economic situation, view the challenges and opportunities facing the employment of college graduates, and take proactive actions with confidence. It urged seizing the crucial stage of employment for college graduates, placing employment promotion at the forefront of economic and social development, and adhering to a strategy of prioritizing employment and proactive policies. They called for joint efforts from the government, universities, college students, and enterprises to strive to achieve higher-quality employment of college graduates, in order to serve the country's high-quality development and the Chinese modernization.

The team also provided employment guidance for employers and graduates at campus job fairs at Sichuan University and Southwest Jiaotong University, and donated employment-related books to human resources and social security departments of Liangshan and Ya'an.
