A delegation of the China Economic and Social Council, headed by its chairman Zhang Qingli, who was also vice-chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, visited Germany, Malaysia and Cambodia from April 15 to 24, upon invitation.
The delegation met respectively with heads of various institutions including the Composites Germany, the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, the Parliament of Malaysia, the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia, the National Assembly and the Senate of Cambodia, and Pannasastra University of Cambodia. During the meetings, the Chinese side introduced the thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, the guiding principles of this year's two sessions, the annual sessions of China's top legislature and top political advisory body, as well as China's efforts in advancing the development of a modern industrial system and new quality productive forces. They also introduced the achievements of China's policies on the development of Xizang autonomous region, using actual examples to fight back the slander of the West and demonstrate the happy and healthy life of the people in Xizang.
The hosting parties spoke highly of China's achievements in the path to modernization. They agreed that the visits deepened mutual understanding and friendship and expanded bilateral exchanges.
