The second symposium on rural vitalization and development was held in Lanxi, East Chinas Zhejiang province, from April 18 to 19. Wang Guangqian, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League (CDL), attended the symposium and delivered a speech.

Noting that Zhejiang is the birthplace of the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", Wang said that the province's Green Rural Revival Program, with the aim of renovating about 10,000 incorporated villages and transforming about 1,000 central villages into examples of moderate prosperity in all respects, has achieved significant practical results, providing a successful example for promoting comprehensive rural vitalization in the new era and on the new journey.

He stressed the proactive learning and application of the experience of the Green Rural Revival Program and concerted efforts to advance rural vitalization. By vigorously promoting its fine traditions, the CDL should actively fulfill its duties in strengthening the dual drivers of technology and reform, supporting the cultivation of new quality productive forces in rural areas, and promoting an increase in farmers' income.

The CDL should fully leverage its advantages as one of the participating groups of the CPPCC National Committee to support rural cultural vitalization, and inject cultural cohesion and spiritual impetus into the comprehensive vitalization of rural areas.
