On April 18, the Committee on Proposals of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held a consultation meeting on the handling of a key proposal regarding the implementation of the plan for providing services and support for veterans during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period. 

During this year's session of the CPPCC National Committee in March, multiple proposals were put forward concerning the improvement of services and support for veterans The aforementioned proposal was approved by the Chairperson’s Council Meeting as a key proposal to be handled this year. 

The CPPCC members participating in the consultation meeting emphasized the significant contributions of veterans to national defense and the development of the armed forces, highlighting them as a crucial force in the socialist modernization drive. 

They suggested improving understanding and awareness regarding the services and support available for veterans, and further coordinating efforts to create jobs for veterans, along with college graduates and migrant workers.

 It is essential to optimize and coordinate education and training mechanisms for veterans, strengthen legal guarantees, explore the establishment of a cross-regional employment mechanism for them, and enhance the high-quality employment of this group, the CPPCC members said. 

They also emphasized the need to improve the preferential policies for disabled veterans and enhance equipment adaptation for them.
