The China Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (CPWDP) Central Committee held a seminar in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province, on April 13 on promoting the building of a healthy China through technological innovation. 

He Wei, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) and chairman of the CPWDP Central Committee, attended the seminar and delivered a keynote speech. 

He stressed the significance of developing new quality productive forces in promoting the construction of a healthy China, and called for consistent efforts to comprehensively deepen reforms and continuously adjust and form new productive relations compatible with the development of new quality productive forces in the heath sector. 

Promoting technological innovation in this field and advancing the sound development of new quality productive forces in bio-manufacturing should focus on the trend of cutting-edge technologies, he said. 

While calling for increasing government support for technological innovation, he also underlined the need to encourage enterprises to play a leading role in making breakthroughs in core technologies.
