The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee sent a team of non-Party members to North China's Hebei province from April 8 to 11 to inspect local work on the Blue Sky protection campaign. 

Led by Shen Yueyue, vice-chairwoman of the CPPCC National Committee, the team inspected major enterprises and industrial parks, communities, scientific research institutions and management platforms in Shijiazhuang, Xingtai, and Baoding in Hebei, and exchanged views extensively with local government officials, enterprise executives, grassroots people, and experts and scholars via symposiums and random visits to village households. 

The team highly affirmed the progress and efforts of Hebei in implementing the central leadership's decisions and plans about ecological protection. The team members regard the inspection as a process of self-education and self-improvement, as well as a process for strengthening confidence and building consensus. 

They called for further enhancing political standing, better balancing the relationship between high-quality development and high-level protection, and adhering to green and low-carbon development. Efforts are needed to accurately, scientifically, and systematically carry out the prevention and control of heavy pollution weather, intensify the adjustment of industrial, energy, and transportation structures with full consideration for regional environmental capacity, coordinate resource allocation, reshape competitive advantages of traditional industries through technological innovation, and cultivate emerging industries to speed up the development of new quality productive forces. 

The inspection team said the CPPCC should focus on its functions, improve political consultation and deliberation of State affairs, tell stories of a Beautiful China well, and contribute wisdom and strength so as to achieve a modernization that features harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.
