The Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK) held a Zhongshan political consultative conference on March 14, focusing on accelerating the development of an efficient and smooth modern circulation system to facilitate domestic circulation, a key topic of survey and research set by the RCCK Central Committee for 2024.

Zheng Jianbang, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and chairman of the RCCK Central Committee, put forward three suggestions for the RCCK Central Committee on carrying out major survey and research work for the year. First, they need to fully understand the necessity and urgency of developing the modern circulation system. He said the modern circulation system provides strong support for China to develop a modern industrial system, cultivates a strong domestic market, and promotes coordinated regional economic development, adding that it produces solid guarantees for expanding the country's opening-up and building a nation with a powerful trade industry. Second, they should promote the development of modern circulation system in a coordinated manner, promote long-term and systematic solutions to bottleneck problems such as imperfect and unreasonable network layouts, and provide useful references for advancing the building of a new development paradigm and achieving high-quality development. Third, they need to raise the efficiency of key survey and research work.

Zheng called for efforts to boost reform and innovation of the circulation management mechanisms, optimize strategic layouts, enhance competitiveness, and facilitate internal and external connectivity to accelerate the building of a highly efficient and smooth national circulation system.

Officials and experts from relevant government departments and research institutions introduced the latest situation in China's modern circulation system development at the meeting. They also discussed the weak links and shortcomings that hinder the development of the modern circulation system and proposed relevant countermeasures and suggestions.
