The Jiu San Society Central Committee plans to submit 63 proposals to the second session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, according to a press briefing held by the Jiu San Society Central Committee on Feb 27.

Focusing on implementing the strategy of revitalizing the country through science and education set by the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2022, the proposals lay stress on strengthening basic research, boosting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, facilitating financial support for scientific and technological innovation as well as development of artificial intelligence, and maximizing the efficiency of national scientific research instruments and facilities, said Zhang Fulin, an official with the Jiu San Society Central Committee.

The proposals also cover last year's major research topics on the construction of ecological civilization in areas such as the Yellow River and grasslands. The Jiu San Society Central Committee also paid attention to the country's economy, education, healthcare, the rule of law, and people's livelihoods, Zhang added.

The Jiu San Society Central Committee launched the preparation work for this year's proposals in September 2023. The proposals are based on materials gained from major surveys, studies and public opinions collected last year.
