The Central Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party plans to submit 35 proposals to the upcoming second session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, with some focusing on overseas Chinese issues, according to a press briefing held by the party's central committee on Feb 26.
Based on 681 proposal materials solicited from the party's special and local committees, and combined with the results of surveys and studies conducted by the party's central committee and public opinions compiled in 2023, the 35 proposals were produced for submission after several rounds of revisions and reviews by experts.
The proposals are concerned with areas such as the economy, science and technology, healthcare, the rule of law, people's livelihoods, rural vitalization and ecological environmental protection. Issues of long-term concern such as the rule of law for overseas Chinese, the development of traditional Chinese medicine and protection of the Yellow River Basin are also included.
Twenty percent of the proposals involve overseas Chinese and foreign affairs, with the contents stressing overseas Chinese legislation, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and foreign investment and trade.
