Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob met with Wang Yong, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, in Ljubljana on Jan 29.

Wang conveyed Chinese leaders' greetings to Golob. Noting that China and Slovenia enjoy longstanding friendship, he said that China attaches great importance to the development of China-Slovenia relations and considers Slovenia as a good friend and partner of China within the European Union. China is willing to work together with Slovenia to enhance mutual political trust between the two countries, deepen bilateral and multilateral exchanges and cooperation, and push China-Slovenia and China-EU relations to new heights, he said. He also introduced the situation of the Chinese path to modernization and the CPPCC to the Slovenian side.

Golob asked Wang to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to Chinese leaders, and emphasized that Slovenia firmly adheres to the one-China principle and is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in multilateral settings such as the United Nations Security Council. He said that Slovenia is promoting economic transformation, green development, and technological innovation and is ready to deepen cooperation with China in relevant areas.

Wang and his delegation visited Slovenia from Jan 28 to 30 at the invitation of the Slovenian government. During the visit, he met with the speaker of the Slovenian National Assembly and the chairman of the Slovenian National Council.
