The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) announced a list of 58 excellent proposals for 2023 on Jan 29, 2024, including the proposal on improving the environmental public interest litigation system, according to the Committee on Proposals of the CPPCC National Committee.
The excellent proposals, recommended by 70 proposal organizers, were selected in line with relevant CPPCC documents and evaluation criteria. They made up about 1 percent of the total proposals in 2023.
The selected proposals were closely related to the central work of the Party and the State, covering the country's economic, political, cultural, social, and ecological civilization development. Among them were 16 collective proposals, or 27.5 percent of the total outstanding ones, which were made by the central committees of non-Communist parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, as well as relevant people's organizations and CPPCC participating groups and member groups. Forty-two of the excellent proposals came from CPPCC members, accounting for 72.5 percent of the total selected. Nineteen of the excellent proposals were chosen as major proposals of the year for 2023 by the CPPCC. All these excellent proposals played a positive role in serving the country's scientific and democratic decision-making and promoting the implementation of relevant work.
