The 17th Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (CPWDP) held its second plenary session in Beijing on Dec 15. He Wei, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and chairman of the CPWDP Central Committee, delivered the 2023 work report on behalf of the Standing Committee of the 17th CPWDP Central Committee.
He said that in the past year, the CPWDP has made new progress and new achievements in fulfilling the party's functions, upholding fundamental principles, making innovations,promoting the CPWDP's self-building, and serving the overall development of the nation with the advantages of the CPWDP participating group.
Regarding the work in 2024, he said the CPWDP will deeply implement China's new political party system. He called on CPWDP members to make firmer and more conscious efforts to bring people together, so as to move forward the construction of a powerful country and realize national rejuvenation with the Chinese path to modernization.
Yang Zhen, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and executive vice-chairman of the CPWDP Central Committee, presided over the opening meeting.
