The second Yellow River Civilization Forum was held in Taiyuan, North China's Shanxi province, on Dec 9, with discussions focusing on the contemporary value of Yellow River civilization. 

Shao Hong, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society, said at the forum that the Yellow River is the mother river of the Chinese nation. The purpose of this forum is to thoroughly study and implement the central leadership's statements on the protection of the Yellow River and the inheritance and development of Yellow River civilization, he added. 

Participants of the forum shared their insights on exploring innovative approaches to promote the development of Yellow River civilization in the new era, build the modern civilization of the Chinese nation, and progress human civilization. 

Officials and experts attending the meeting emphasized the significant role of delving into Yellow River culture in advancing the modern civilization of the Chinese nation and promoting the construction of Chinese-style modernization. They also suggested that the nine provinces and autonomous regions along the Yellow River strengthen in-depth cooperation, and take the forum as an opportunity to jointly build a broader venue for communication and cooperation. 

Co-hosted by the Central Institute of Socialism and the International Confucian Association, the forum attracted more than 100 participants from central and local institutions.
