The second plenary session of the 11th Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (TDSL) Central Committee was held in Beijing on Dec 5.
Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee and chairwoman of the TDSL Central Committee, delivered a work report on behalf of the standing committee of the 11th TDSL Central Committee.
Su said that in 2023, which is the opening year for the comprehensive implementation of the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Community Party of China, the TDSL deeply tapped into its advantages and characteristics, and empowered its development through further strengthening theoretical learning, team building, and institutional guarantees.
The TDSL has also enhanced its duty performance ability and strengthened the integration of its participation in and deliberation of State affairs, the work on Taiwan affairs, and social services, so as to boost Chinese modernization and build a broader pattern for promoting Taiwan affairs in the new era, Su added.
Su called on TDSL members to take the "Cross-Strait Exchange Promotion Year" as the work theme for 2024, strengthen self-development, take the initiative in fulfilling their duties of participating in governance, and strive for new progress in all aspects of work, in a bid to promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and realize the complete reunification of the motherland.
