The Committee on Social and Legal Affairs of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee carried out a legal publicity event on the Constitution in Beijing on Dec 4, the 10th National Constitution Day. 

He Baoxiang, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang Central Committee, attended the event.

The event was part of the CPPCC National Committee's weeklong Constitution publicity campaign focusing on promoting the spirit of the Constitution and building a socialist rule-of-law culture. 

Hu Jianmiao, a CPPCC National Committee member, gave a lecture on the status and significance of the Constitution as the fundamental law of the country, the governance of the country according to the Constitution, and the connotations and implementation approach of socialist rule-of -law culture. More than 100 participants, including members of the CPPCC National Committee, representatives from non-Communist parties, federations of industry and commerce, and university students, conducted in-depth exchanges around the theme. 

Participants of the event said that they will make further efforts to enhance public awareness of the Constitution, promote core socialist values, and advance the rule of law in all aspects of national undertakings.
