A delegation of non-CPC members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee visited Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai in South China's Guangdong province from Nov 13 to 16, to inspect the latest developments in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Bater, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, headed the team. During the four-day inspection, the team, whose members come primarily from ethnic and religious groups, looked into the progress made in in-depth cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, the urban and premium living circle development in the region, and the innovative development of high-tech enterprises.
The visiting CPPCC members pledged to leverage the role of the CPPCC as a specialized consultative body to enhance the development of the GBA, and to contribute to the building of a strong country and national rejuvenation. They stressed the importance of fostering a strong sense of community of the Chinese nation in the construction of the GBA, promoting exchanges and integration among various ethnic groups, as well as facilitating the development of religions with Chinese characteristics, to further strengthen the unity of the Chinese nation and help drive forward the Chinese path to modernization.
