The 2023 China Economic and Social Forum was held in Beijing on Nov 15. Over 110 domestic and foreign participants held in-depth exchanges focusing on the theme of building a community with a shared future for mankind featuring openness, development and civilization.

In his address, Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said that the China-proposed concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind has been well received and extensively supported by the international community, and has made important contributions to the joint building of a world that is peaceful, safe, prosperous, open, inclusive, clean and beautiful. China is ready to work with the international community to build an open world economy, join hands on the road to modernization, and jointly promote the development and progress of human civilization, he said. The CPPCC National Committee will continue to support the China Economic and Social Council in strengthening exchanges with friends from all walks of life in other countries, deepening exchanges of State governance experience, and promoting pragmatic cooperation in various fields to strive for a better future for mankind, he added.
