Hosted by the China Committee on Religion and Peace (CCRP), the second international seminar on interfaith exchanges and shared future for humanity was held in Beijing on Nov 9.
In his written address to the seminar, Pagbalha Geleg Namgyai, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and president of the CCRP, shared his hope that through this seminar, the aspiration of unity and cooperation among religious people from different countries will become clearer, the consciousness of upholding justice will become more prominent, and the confidence in safeguarding peace will be firmer.
The seminar gathered nearly 30 representatives of organizations on religion and peace, religious leaders and experts from around the world, including China, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Timor-Leste, Italy, and Peru. They shared the concepts and practices of their countries and religions in addressing global challenges, and agreed that religious leaders have a responsibility to play an active role in promoting understanding, resolving conflicts and advancing social stability and harmony, so as to promote global peace and development.
