Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (TDSL), led a team to survey the pairing assistance work in Hezhang county, Bijie, in Southwest China's Guizhou province, to promote the implementation and effectiveness of the targeted assistance project.
Su said that under the leadership of local Party committees and governments, and with the continuous assistance of the United Front over the past years, Hezhang, as the birthplace of the Bijie experimental zone for development-oriented poverty alleviation and ecological construction, has undergone earth-shaking changes. Substantial progress has been made in local economic and social development as a result of various assistance projects, continuously consolidating the achievements of poverty alleviation and promoting rural vitalization.
At a symposium held during the survey, Su called for TDSL members to further leverage their Taiwan-related characteristics to mobilize Taiwan compatriots and youth to participate in local rural vitalization work, attract more Taiwan compatriots and enterprises to visit and conduct cross-Strait exchanges in various fields with Bijie, and jointly build the city as a window to showcase the advantages of China's new-type political party system.
