Wang Yong attends China-Thailand Investment Forum

The China-Thailand Investment Forum was held in Beijing on Oct 19. Wang Yong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended and addressed the event. 

Wang said that that the eight major steps proposed by China to support high-quality Belt and Road cooperation at the opening ceremony of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) have injected strong momentum into the joint efforts of all partner countries, including China and Thailand, to achieve common development and prosperity. 

China is willing to work with Thailand to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state and the outcomes of the third BRF, adhere to the principles of mutual benefit, common development, openness and inclusiveness, and develop a China-Thailand community with a shared future that is more stable, prosperous and sustainable. 

Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said the Belt and Road Initiative  is a policy that facilitates international cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, tourism and culture. The initiative has greatly promoted mutually beneficial cooperation between countries, he said, adding that Thailand will continue to deepen cooperation with China in the aforementioned fields to achieve common prosperity. 

About 200 representatives from government departments, chambers of commerce, and business communities from the two countries attended the forum.
