The China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification (CCPPNR) hosted a fellowship gathering for representatives of overseas associations promoting China's peaceful reunification in Beijing, on Sept 27. Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, attended and addressed the event.

Su, also vice-chairwoman of the CCPPNR, said that China faces unprecedented bright prospects as its economy continues to improve and high-quality development has seen solid advancements. The nation is closer than ever to the goal of great rejuvenation and the Chinese people are more capable and confident than ever to achieve complete reunification of the motherland, she noted.

She acknowledged the associations' contributions to uniting overseas compatriots in opposing all kinds of separatist acts and maintaining the stability of cross-Strait relations in the process of promoting the peaceful reunification of the nation. She called on overseas associations to hold high the patriotic banner, firmly oppose "Taiwan independence", and make greater efforts to promote exchanges and interactions across the Taiwan Strait.

She also encouraged the associations to enhance the friendship between China and other countries to create a favorable external environment for the nation's development.

Over 80 representatives of overseas associations promoting China's peaceful reunification attended the event.
