The third China Water Conservation Forum was held in North China's Tianjin on Sept 26, with the theme of "water conservation and high-quality development".
He Wei, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (CPWDP), and Wang Guangqian, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League, attended and addressed the event.
He Wei said that the forum is a concrete action to implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
He Wei stressed the importance of ecological civilization to the Chinese path to modernization and the urgency of water resource issues in China. He called on CPWDP members to exchange ideas with participants at the meeting on water-saving and the prevention of water pollution, as well as the promotion of scientific utilization and protection of water resources, to advance the country's sustainable development of water resources.
Wang called for further efforts to explore innovative ways of maximizing the utilization of water resources, build a water-saving society and promote the high-quality development of the country.
The forum was co-hosted by the CPWDP Central Committee and the Tianjin Municipal Government.
