The Jiusan Society held a seminar on the theory and social history research work of national participatory parties in Yichang, Central China's Hubei province, from Sept 19 to 20. Shao Hong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society, attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech.

The meeting reviewed and summarized the research work on the theory and social history of China's participatory parties since the seminar was last convened in 2018. The attendees exchanged ideas and discussed plans and measures for relevant study and research in the new era.

Shao fully affirmed the research achievements made by the Jiusan Society over the past five years. He stressed that relevant work should focus on major theoretical and practical issues related to China's multi-party cooperation and the development of the Jiusan Society. He also noted the importance of building a research mechanism that highlights internal and external integration and complementary advantages, adhering to the work philosophy of seeking truth from facts, and cultivating a backbone research team.

Shao called on members of the Jiusan Society to facilitate the transformation of the Society's research achievements to make its research work more effective.
