The seventh China (Chongqing) Healthcare Conference, co-hosted by the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK) and the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), was held in Shizhu county, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, on Sept 20.
He Baoxiang, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the RCCK Central Committee, attended the conference and announced its opening.
He said that the conference, themed on "Forest Healthcare", aims to promote public health by fully tapping the curing and rehabilitative functions of forest resources. He said he hopes that all participants would make good use of the event to explore new paths and new models for healthcare, based on the vast local virgin forests, diverse biological species and comfortable climate, and make new contributions to promoting the high-quality development of the nation's healthcare industry.
Tang Fangyu, chairman of the CPPCC Chongqing committee, said that healthcare is an important modern service industry closely linked to people's well-being and economic and social development. He urged the Shizhu county government to make unremitting efforts in bolstering the local healthcare industry while adhering to the red line for farmland and ecological protection.
