A delegation of the China Economic and Social Council (CESC), headed by its chairman Zhang Qingli, who is also vice-chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), visited Greece, Thailand and Russia from Sept 11 to 20, upon invitations from the Economic and Social Council of Greece, the Thai-Chinese Cultural Relationship Council, and the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.
The delegation met with officials of the Hellenic Parliament, the Economic and Social Council of Greece, the National Assembly of Thailand, the Thai-Chinese Cultural Relationship Council as well as the Russian International Affairs Council, and the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. During their meetings, the Chinese side introduced the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the characteristics of the Chinese path to modernization, the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative, and exchanged views on cooperation with officials of the three countries.
The hosting parties spoke highly of the visits. They agreed that the visits deepened their understanding of China's political, economic and social development, promoted communication and cooperation, and facilitated the development of bilateral relations.
