A China-Cambodia business community luncheon meeting was held in Beijing on Sept 15. Gao Yunlong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Manet, who was on an official visit to China, attended and addressed the event.
Gao, also chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), said that Cambodia is a good neighbor, a good friend and a good partner to China. Noting that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cambodia, as well as the 10th anniversary of the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative, he said that the frequent and close head of state diplomacy between the two sides has set the course for the development of a China-Cambodia community with a shared future, made positive contributions to regional peace and prosperity, and established a new model of international relations that highlights mutual respect, equal treatment and win-win cooperation.
Gao noted that China and Cambodia have actively expanded practical cooperation in various fields and promoted relevant initiatives in the new era, becoming pioneers and model-setters in jointly building a community with a shared future for mankind.
He stressed that China and Cambodia are highly complementary in economic and trade cooperation, with huge potential to be explored. For years, China has been Cambodia's largest trading partner and the top source country of foreign investment, he said, adding that the ACFIC is willing to further strengthen contacts and exchanges with Cambodian business associations, and support enterprises in the two countries to deepen cooperation and cultivate new growth engines for the two countries' economies.
