On July 21, Bater, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, led a supervision survey at the Chinese Academy of History under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing on the cultivation and promotion of a macro-history view of China, one of the key proposals to be handled this year.
At a symposium held the same day, the survey team said that it is important to integrate the handling of CPPCC proposals with the implementation of the decisions and plans of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on strengthening and improving the country’s ethnic work. Handling of the proposals should help solve the most pressing and difficult problems that are of great concern to the people.
The team also urged further efforts to guide the cadres and members of all ethnic groups to establish a correct view on the history of the Chinese nation, and develop a sound understanding of the historical facts of exchanges and integration among all ethnic groups in the country in order to consolidate the sense of community of the Chinese nation.
