The Standing Committee of the 11th Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (TDSL) held its third meeting in Yan'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on July 4.
Su Hui, chairwoman of the TDSL Central Committee, said that the TDSL should strengthen its historical confidence, enhance historical initiative and draw spiritual motivation from the revolutionary history to serve the cause of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the nation in the new era.
Su, also vice-chairwoman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, called on the league's members to further consolidate ideological and political consensus to closely unite around the CPC and unswervingly follow its leadership.
Su underscored the importance of implementing various measures to perform TDSL members' duties, and of focusing on pro-reunification political parties and groups in Taiwan and enhancing economic integration between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.
She urged for more efforts to promote theoretical study, team building, and institutional guarantees to bolster the development of the TDSL.
She added that the league's members should summarize their work experience in the first half of the year and initiate new measures to ensure the completion of the annual work tasks and make new achievements in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities.
