The Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK) held a Zhongshan political consultative conference on June 29, with participants discussing the current economic situation and offering suggestions for the economic work in the second half of the year.
Officials from related authorities, including the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology, and experts and scholars from research institutes and universities attended the meeting and proposed countermeasures and suggestions to help address such issues as optimizing the business environment and boosting the confidence of private enterprises, accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system, advancing the high-quality development of the real economy, and expanding domestic demand and consumption.
Zheng Jianbang, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, said that China's economy is strongly resilient and has great potential. It is necessary to stabilize major market players to ensure the current economic recovery and long-term quality development.
Zheng, also chairman of the RCCK Central Committee, called for greater efforts to strengthen the reform and innovation of institutional mechanisms to crack structural problems, better coordinate the relationship between supply, demand, and consumption, implement various policies to boost the confidence of private enterprises, unleash their economic vitality, and effectively cope with the complex and ever-changing external environment.
He added that based on the experts' opinions, the RCCK will put forward strategic, forward-looking and practical suggestions as reference for the decision-making of the central government, and make contributions to achieve the goals of economic and social development set for this year.
He Baoxiang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and executive vice-chairman of the RCCK Central Committee, also attended the meeting.
