The Friends of Hong Kong Association (FHKA) held a ceremony to mark the 34th anniversary of its establishment and to announce the inauguration of the association's ninth board of directors from June 7 to 9. 

Xian Hui, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended and addressed the ceremony at the invitation of the FHKA. 

Xian called on all FHKA members to firmly implement the "one country, two systems" policy and the principle of "patriots administering Hong Kong" and make effort to seek further development. 

She encouraged FHKA members to seize major strategic opportunities of the country and better integrate into overall national development. She also encouraged them to actively guide all sectors of Hong Kong to enhance unity and consensus, strengthen their confidence and determination to maintain Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability, and make new contributions to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. 

During her stay in Hong Kong, Xian visited the CPPCC Hong Kong Committee Members' Association, the Hong Kong Island Federation, the Kowloon Federation of Associations, the New Territories Association of Societies, the Hong Kong Federation of Women, and the Hong Kong Volunteers Federation.
