The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee conducted a survey on advancing a new system for mobilizing resources nationwide to achieve breakthroughs in core technologies in key fields, from May 28 to 31, in Shanghai.
Organized by the Committee on Education, Science, Health and Sports of the CPPCC National Committee, the research team visited universities, high-tech companies and research institutes, including Fudan University, Zhangjiang Laboratory, and AECC Commercial Aircraft Engine Co Ltd, to learn about local progress in promoting the system.
The team said that developing a new system for mobilizing the resources nationwide is a significant undertaking for dealing with the difficulties and challenges in seeking innovations in core technologies. The urgency and importance of the new system are becoming more prominent at a time when both China and the world are in the midst of profound and complex changes.
To ensure the successful development of the new system, the researchers called for greater efforts to enhance the integration of central government policies with local development goals, to promote an efficient market and a well-functioning government, to incorporate goal-oriented achievements into economic benefits, to keep pace of independent innovation with open innovation, and to set the correct tone between tackling current problems and the deliberation of long-term strategies.
