The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held a briefing session on issues of major concern with a focus on the implementation of the five-year plan on the rural vitalization strategy, on May 29 in Beijing.

Hu Chunhua, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, said that the significance of the rural vitalization strategy should be well understood and the key tasks of implementing the strategy should be firmly held. The establishment of the briefing system for key concerns is a systematic arrangement for the CPPCC. It is also a powerful measure to strengthen ideological and political guidance and build a broad consensus, and serves as an important platform to help CPPCC members better understand the policies and measures in relevant fields and provide valuable suggestions to relevant departments to draw up and implement new policies.

Hu urged the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Areas of the CPPCC National Committee to make full use of the briefing mechanism to facilitate consensus and unity in promoting the country's rural vitalization.

Wang Yong and He Baoxiang, vice-chairmen of the CPPCC National Committee, also attended the meeting. Officials from the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs briefed the meeting participants on the progress made in implementing the five-year plan on rural vitalization.
