The 10th Dajiang Forum was held in Beijing on May 17.
The forum, organized by the Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-government League (TDSL), was themed on promoting the integrated development of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and advancing the peaceful reunification of China.
Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairwoman of the TDSL Central Committee, said that since the forum was launched 10 years ago, the TDSL has made efforts to build a bridge between the people on both sides of the Strait and to promote mutual understanding and integration, so as to jointly promote reunification.
Su called for people from both sides to unite together to oppose the secession of "Taiwan independence" and interference by foreign forces, strengthen cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and jointly advance the process of national reunification.
She also urged Taiwan compatriots to distinguish right from wrong, catch up with the general trend and uphold the righteous cause, see clearly where their own interests lie, and stand on the right side of history.
She extended a warm welcome to Taiwan compatriots on the island to visit the mainland more often, carry out cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation in various fields, work together to protect, carry forward and promote Chinese culture, and deepen the integrated development of the two sides. She expressed the sincere hope that more Taiwan compatriots, especially the younger generation, will uphold the great cause of the nation and take an active part in national reunification and rejuvenation.
