The All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) recently conducted an annual key survey in Nanjing, Suzhou and Changzhou of East China's Jiangsu province, with the theme focusing on promoting the active role of private enterprises in recovering and expanding domestic consumption.
Gao Yunlong, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee and chairman of the ACFIC, headed the survey team.
The survey team visited local factories, shopping malls, tourism destinations and centers of elderly services, to learn about the development and needs of private enterprises.
During the visits, they held seminars to exchange ideas on exploring effective ways to restore and expand consumption with provincial government departments, private enterprises and business communities.
The ACFIC survey team said that private enterprises are important entities in production and consumption activities, an important force in optimizing the supply system and creating market demand, as well as an important channel to provide new jobs, increase incomes and enhance the consumption capacity of local people.
They called for greater efforts to optimize supply, create demand and cultivate special feature brands to promote a higher-level virtuous circle between supply and demand, and create overall market prosperity.
The team urged private enterprises to make good use of policy dividends and achieve transformation in the process of the country’s overall economic recovery.
The ACFIC researchers said that private enterprises should also actively fulfill their social responsibilities and participate in public welfare undertakings and promotional campaigns to stimulate the consumption potential of both urban and rural residents.
