The Committee on Education, Science, Health and Sports of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee conducted a survey in South China's Guangdong province from May 8 to 11 on the construction of the teaching and research system in primary and secondary schools.
The survey team visited primary and secondary schools, education research institutes, teacher development centers, vocational and technical schools and other educational institutions in Guangzhou and Qingyuan cities, conducted field research on the construction of a teacher development system and teaching-research system, and held symposiums to learn about local situation and exchange views with local participants.
According to the team, the report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly stresses "adhering to the people-centered development of education, accelerating the construction of high-quality education system, developing quality-oriented education and promoting educational equity", which maps out the course for the development of China's education cause.
Teaching and research institutes are an important part of China’s teaching management system and the teaching and research system is an integral part of the teaching management system with Chinese characteristics, playing an irreplaceable role in basic education.
The team said that it is necessary to adhere to a problem-oriented approach, tackle the real weaknesses and problems of teaching and research work in primary and secondary schools, deeply analyze the practical needs of current basic education for teaching and research work, fully leverage the supporting role of teaching and research work in basic education, and make the construction of the teaching and research system follow the direction of the reform and development of basic education.
The team also noted that a five-level teaching and research system at the national, provincial, municipal, county and school levels should be established and improved, and efforts should be made to optimize the working mechanism, synergize the efforts of all parties, promote the sharing and integration of regional teaching and research resources, maximize the effect of collaborative teaching and research results across the five levels, and promote the innovative development of teaching and research work in primary and secondary schools.
