BEIJING -- Wang Huning, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, met with Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in Beijing on Friday.

Wang said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, both sides should maintain high-level exchanges, strengthen strategic communication, enhance political mutual trust, deepen high-quality cooperation, and join hands on the path to modernization.

Wang said the two countries should work together for a steady and long-term development of bilateral relations, and make global development more inclusive, resilient and beneficial for all.

The CPPCC National Committee is ready to strengthen exchanges on governance experience with the Singaporean side, and make due contribution to enriching the political civilization and promoting the common values of humanity.

Prime Minister Lee said the development concepts of the two countries are highly compatible, and that bilateral relations are growing robustly.

Singapore firmly adheres to the one-China policy, Lee said, adding that Singapore expects to substantively elevate bilateral relations with China and continuously deepen cooperation in various fields to benefit the two peoples.
