The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee held a consultation meeting on the topic selection of key proposals for the first session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee in Beijing, on March 15.

Representatives of the special committees of the CPPCC National Committee, the central committees of non-CPC parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), and leaders of proposal organizers and relevant CPPCC departments attended the meeting and exchanged views on the topic selection of key proposals and the means of supervision and implementation of the proposals.

A total of 71 topics, chosen from the 113 recommended key proposals submitted to the first session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, were discussed at the meeting.

The topics covered such important issues as the promotion of the Chinese path to modernization, comprehensive and faithful implementation of the new development philosophy, building of a new development paradigm, greater efforts to promote high-quality development, active expansion of domestic consumer demand, effective prevention and defusing of financial risks, high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and strength, and sound guarantee and improvement of people's well-being and livelihoods.

The Committee on Proposals of the CPPCC National Committee will revise and improve the selected topics of key proposals based on the suggestions of the meeting. The proposals will be released and implemented following examination and approval by the Chairperson's Council meeting of the CPPCC National Committee.
