Senior CPPCC members study Xi's speech, guiding principles of CPC plenum

BEIJING -- Leading Party members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) met on Wednesday to study an important speech delivered by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at the second plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and the plenum's guiding principles.

The meeting of the leading Party members group of the CPPCC National Committee was presided over by Wang Yang, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and secretary of its leading Party members group.

Noting the importance of the work report delivered by Xi and major results yielded at the plenum, including the adoption of a plan on the reform of Party and State institutions, the meeting urged efforts to align thoughts and actions with the major decisions and arrangements of the plenary session, and actively make proposals on State affairs, communicate government policies, respond to public concerns and build consensus.

The meeting also underlined the importance to make sound and comprehensive preparations for the first session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee.
