On Feb 15, Wan Gang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), voiced the hope that the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China) and its members would grasp opportunities, continuously deepen China-US pragmatic cooperation, safeguard the multilateral trading system, ensure global industrial and supply chain security, and bring bilateral relations back on track for healthy and stable growth.
Wan made the remarks in a speech delivered at the AmCham China 2023 Annual Appreciation Dinner in Beijing.
Wan said that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has laid out the blueprint for Chinese modernization for now and in the years to come.
He stressed that China will adhere to the basic national policy of opening-up, firmly pursue a win-win strategy of opening-up, smoothly advance opening-up with institutional guarantees in the areas of management, standards, rules and norms, and endeavor to create a world-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based and internationalized.
About 350 guests, including US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns, attended the event.
