Wang Yongqing, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, met with Branka Bosnjak, deputy chair of the Parliament of Montenegro, via video link on Nov 29, to exchange views on further advancing China-Montenegro relations.
Wang noted that China and Montenegro have made continuous efforts to cement political mutual trust and deepen cooperation in various fields since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 16 years ago.
Wang said that China is willing to join hands with Montenegro to tap the potential of cooperation, expand practical cooperation and enhance people-to-people exchanges and mutual learning for the good of the people of both countries under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Mechanism for Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries.
The CPPCC National Committee is ready to further strengthen exchanges with the Parliament of Montenegro to promote the development of bilateral relations, he said.
The CPPCC vice-chairman briefed Bosnjak on the 20th CPC National Congress.
Bosnjak said that Montenegro adheres to the one-China principle and attaches importance to developing relations with China. The Parliament of Montenegro is willing to further strengthen exchanges with the CPPCC National Committee to promote the development of bilateral relations.
