The Central Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association, one of China's eight non-communist political parties, held a forum in Beijing on Oct 25 to convey the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and made arrangements for the study, publicity and implementation of the spirit of the national congress among all its members.

The study, publicity and implementation of the guiding principles of the national congress is the primary political task of CNDCA at present and for some time to come, Hao Mingjin, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and chairman of the CNDCA central committee, said in a speech delivered at the meeting.

The 20th CPC National Congress has scientifically planned the goals and major policies for the development of the cause of the Party and the country over the next five years and in the longer term. It has clearly set forth its mission and tasks for the new journey of the CPC in the new era, and sent out calls for building a modern socialist country on all fronts and promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in all aspects, said Hao, who presided over the forum.

The CNDCA Central Committee chairman also called on its members to have a thorough understanding of the characteristics of Chinese modernization and its essential requirements.

He added that the CNDCA must unswervingly uphold the leadership of the CPC and align its thinking and actions with the CPC Central Committee's decisions and arrangements. The study and implementation of the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress should be integrated with the study and implementation of the spirit of the Central United Front Work Conference. The CNDCA must unswervingly put into action the major policy decisions and arrangements made at the 20th CPC National Congress.

Gu Shengzu, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and executive vice-chairman of the CNDCA Central Committee, also attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Gu said that the Chinese path to modernization, proposed in the report to the 20th CPC National Congress, has solved many problems for the development of human society, and has drawn up a blueprint for the development of Chinese modernization.

He noted that the CNDCA must thoroughly study, publicize and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, strengthen its own construction and give full play to the CNDCA's characteristics and advantages, enhancing its strength in navigating the socialist market economy, the strength to develop socialist democracy, the strength to build an advanced socialist culture, the strength to build a harmonious socialist society, and the strength to handle international affairs, in a bid to make its contributions to the building of a modern socialist country in all respects and promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts.
