The 2022 Private Economy Standard Innovation Conference was jointly held by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) and the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) in Beijing, on Sept 5.

In his speech at the conference, Gao Yunlong, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee and chairman of the ACFIC, said that standard building is vital to guide the high-quality development of private enterprises, help commerce and trade associations strengthen self-discipline, promote the healthy growth of the non-public sector, encourage those working in the sector to achieve success, and form a new type of cordial and clean relationship between the government and businesses.

Gao stressed that the implementation of the new development philosophy, the formation of new development paradigm and the advancement of high-quality development have required the country to further underscore the leading role of standards and the implementation of national strategies on standards.

He added that more efforts in standard innovation should be made to unleash the vitality of the non-public sector of the economy, foster greater momentum for private firms, strengthen the capacity building of commerce and trade associations, and make contributions to the healthy growth of the non-public sector and the implementation of national strategies on standards.

The 2022 Private Economy Standard Innovation Week was also launched at the conference. The week-long activity was designed to create a new working mechanism featuring coordination between the central government and local governments, and the integrated development of all regions in the country. It aims to launch thematic campaigns on standard building with local characteristics, which focus on China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, the digital economy, and financial technology, in Beijing, Shandong, Jiangsu, Hangzhou of Zhejiang, Chengdu of Sichuan, and Shenzhen of Guangdong.

Lu Yong, a member of the Leading Party Members' Group and vice-chairman of the ACFIC, presided over the conference, which was held both online and offline.
