Edmund Ho Hau Wah, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), held a meeting with a delegation from the International Forum for Clean Energy (Macao) on Aug 31.
Noting that the IFCE is a business card of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) and has become increasingly important over the past decade, Ho called on the organization to fully leverage the institutional strength of the "one country, two systems" policy, give full play to the role of green finance in low-carbon transformation, build a platform for technological innovation in clean energy, and rally social forces for green, low-carbon and sustainable development to support national carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
The IFCE has been convened in the SAR eight times since its establishment in March 2012. It is committed to fulfilling the mission of popularizing clean energy, improving the efficiency of energy utilization, building an energy-saving economy and low-carbon society, and achieving sustainable development in the promotion of an ecological civilization. It is also aimed at promoting and deepening international exchanges, coordination and collaboration in the sectors of clean energy, energy conservation and environmental protection, and supporting China's endeavors to participate in the international governance of energy, climate and the environment.
