The fourth Summit on Rule of Law Construction in the Private Economy was held in Beijing on Aug 18.
It aimed to pool efforts to improve the business environment, support private enterprises through the rule of law, as well as ensure safety, stabilize economic expectations, bolster confidence in the economy and promote economic growth.
Zhou Qiang, president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), Zhang Jun, procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), and Gao Yunlong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), attended the meeting.
Gao highlighted the Communist Party of China (CPC)'s overall leadership of rule of law construction in the private economy.
Gao called for improving the business environment, cultivating a cordial and clean relationship between government and businesses, and rule of law construction in private enterprises.
He also urged the federations of industry and commerce and chambers of commerce to play their part.
Held by the ACFIC with support from the SPC, SPP, ministries of public security and justice, and China Law Society, the summit summarized the achievements and experiences in rule of law construction in the private economy since the 19th National Congress of the CPC.
