Bater, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, led a survey tour in Southwest China's Xizang autonomous region, from July 27 to 31.
The purpose of the tour was to survey ecological and environmental protection of grasslands, exchanges and integration of all ethnic groups, and the development of patriotic religious groups in the region.
The survey team held a symposium in Lhasa, the region's capital, after their field trips to pastures, meadows, and agricultural and animal husbandry enterprises in the cities of Nyingchi, Nagchu and Lhasa.
At the meeting, Bater urged the team members to deepen their understanding of and build a consensus on the ecological and environmental protection of grasslands, and to contribute to China's modernization featuring harmony between humanity and nature.
During their tour of communities and religious venues in Xizang, the team communicated with people from different ethnic groups and with different religious beliefs.
Bater called on CPPCC members to better perform their duties and promote exchanges among all ethnic groups, foster a stronger sense of community for the Chinese nation, and further develop religions in the Chinese context.
