Zhang Qingli, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended the fourth session of the fifth China Economic and Social Council (CESC) in Beijing, on July 8.
Zhang, also chairman of the CESC, fully affirmed the council's achievements since its third session, pointing out that the council has giving full play to its role as a think tank and platform for foreign exchanges.
In outlining the council's work plan for the next year, he stressed that the CESC should publicize the policies and measures of the Communist Party of China and the State, put forward suggestions focusing on the rural vitalization strategy, and support the country's diplomatic endeavors.
