Yu Guangzhou, vice-chairman of the Committee on Economic Affairs of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, led a survey team to learn about  public services for the migrant population in their permanent residence in East China's Shandong province from June 30 to July 3.

The team visited the Ocean University of China, two local enterprises, a human resource service industrial park in Qingdao, as well as a public service center and a company in Jinan, and held symposiums with representatives from governments, enterprises, universities and industry associations.

The team focused on local efforts in improving basic public service systems such as education, social security, medical treatment and housing, upgrading the public employment service system in the labor market, and helping key groups such as college graduates, migrant workers and veterans obtain employment.

They also surveyed the improvement of the service management system for the migrant population, improving job demand investigation, employment registration, and monitoring and early warning mechanisms for unemployment, promoting employment-prioritized policies, accelerating the implementation of measures that help ease enterprises' burdens and stabilize their employment, and supporting micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises and other market players.
