Zhang Qingli, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, held a video meeting with Miroslav Ivanov, deputy speaker of the Bulgarian National Assembly, on June 24.

Stressing that the China-Bulgaria relationship has maintained steady development momentum since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries more than 70 years ago, Zhang said the two countries should deepen political mutual trust and promote pragmatic cooperation in various fields, such as agriculture, trade, science and technology.

He also said China welcomes Bulgaria to participate in the Global Development Initiative and Global Security Initiative proposed by China, adding that the CPPCC National Committee is willing to enhance communication with the Bulgarian National Assembly at all levels to further bolster China-Bulgaria strategic partnership.

Ivanov said Bulgaria sticks to the one-China policy and highly values its relations with China. He added that the Bulgarian National Assembly looks forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with the CPPCC National Committee.
