Shao said bilateral relations have achieved remarkable progress since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries 45 years ago.
China is willing to work with Barbados to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, enhance pragmatic cooperation in different sectors, and advance high-quality Belt and Road development, said Shao.
China is ready to jointly implement the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and the Global Security Initiative (GSI), and write a new chapter in the traditional friendship between the two countries and between China and Caribbean countries, according to Shao.
He added that the CPPCC National Committee is willing to strengthen relations with the Senate of Barbados and contribute to greater progress in bilateral relations.
Thompson spoke highly of the GDI and GSI, expressed thanks for the valuable support it has received from China, and said she hopes to promote exchanges and cooperation for the well-being of the two peoples.
She said the Senate is also willing to improve cooperation with the CPPCC National Committee and bolster ties between Barbados and China.
